Music and lifetimes

There is a kind of music. When I hear it, I feel like I've "experienced" it before. I know I haven't - not in this lifetime anyways.

It reminds me of a time, long ago. But it couldn't have been because I haven't been so old yet. It isn't a particular song, although there is one where I do feel like I sung it on a hill, amongst trees - but I haven't. In fact, when I heard the song, I didn't even know the lyrics of the song.

But there are other tunes that mesmerize me similarly.

Sometimes, when I am thinking of a song, I am able to produce the sound of it in my brain - with the simple thought that somewhere in the world this song must be playing at this particular moment.

The first time I heard a Fleetwood Mac album, I felt like I had heard it before. Except that, we didn't own audio cassettes/ tapes/ CDs as kids. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I heard it at a friend's place.

This one time, I heard the DJ Tiesto song, Forever Today, and cried because I felt "pain" and "sorrow" and couldn't think of how that song could have be made with so much pain.
